The Foundation of AFWA Scholarships
The Foundation of Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance provides scholarships to support the financial needs of students pursuing undergraduate, master's and doctorate degrees in finance and accounting. Additionally, they provide AFWA scholarships to help alleviate the financial constraints of obtaining a CPA, CFP, CFE, CIA, CMA or CVA designation; designations that the profession requires for advancement within the industry.
AFWA Flagstaff Chapter is pleased to announce the recipient of The Foundation of Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance 2015-2016 scholarship:

Sierra is majoring in accounting at Northern Arizona University and will graduate in Spring 2017. The following is an excerpt from the essay submitted by Sierra:
"I learned from a young age that sometimes individuals are given circumstances that try to discourage their future goals (i.e. family situations, funding). I too was presented these circumstances, but instead of letting it discourage me, I used it as fuel for my future goals. I am constantly working to expand my knowledge of the world/ individuals around me by joining different organization, and now I am a proud affiliate of Beta Alpha Psi. Through the connections that I have made, and connections that I have yet to make, I will become CPA and CFE certified. With my CPA/ CFE certification, and graduation from NAU, I will go on to make this world a more secure place."
