Welcome to the AFWA Flagstaff Chapter Website!

Presidents Message for November 2016

Hello everyone.   So much has happened since we last met.  The 2016 AFWA National Conference was October 26-28.  This was the first AFWA National Conference I was able to attend.  Several of our chapter members attended as well.   The Conference had a strong focus on Elevating Women.  It was inspiring to hear their stories of climbing the career ladder and striving for a work life balance.  Something many of us can relate to.

Although I have always known that we are the Flagstaff Chapter of this Organization, I never took the time to ponder the whole Organization.  It was amazing to realize that we are just a small part of something larger than ourselves.  It was wonderful to meet women from all across the country.

And then, of course, was Halloween!  I must confess that this is the first year I did not dress up or carve Jack-o’-lanterns in many many years.

Our November speaker is Molly Schulz from Edward Jones.  She will be speaking on the new Department of Labor rules regarding the retirement contributions and education accounts for children.  Should be very informative.  See you there.  Remember to RSVP.

With Halloween behind us, the holiday season is fast approaching.  I want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you,

Diana M. Sickels
